Who this session is for

People with one specific area that needs attention — an arm, a leg, the abdomen or a post-surgical site — rather than general or whole-body swelling. It is a common follow-up once a fuller session has established what is going on.

What happens in the session

Forty minutes of manual lymphatic drainage concentrated on a single region. Your therapist still clears the drainage pathways serving that area first, because working the area alone gives the fluid nowhere to go. The rest of the time goes to the region itself, which is why this session suits a defined problem better than a general one.

How to prepare

Wear clothing that gives easy access to the area concerned. Drink water beforehand and avoid a heavy meal immediately before. If the area varies through the day, a photograph of it at its worst is genuinely useful.

How many sessions you may need

Often a short series rather than a single visit, and your therapist will say what she expects after assessing the area. If it becomes clear that more than one region needs work, a longer session is usually better value than repeating this one.

Questions people ask

Is forty minutes long enough?

For one defined area, yes — that is what the session is designed around. If more than one area needs attention, a standard or extended session is the better choice.

Which areas can be treated?

Most commonly an arm, a leg, the abdomen or a post-surgical site. If you are not sure whether yours is suitable, ask when you book rather than guessing.
